The Selous Game Reserve in southern Tanzania is Africa's oldest and largest protected area. Proclaimed in 1896, and bigger than Switzerland, the Selous is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Selous remains one of Africa's largest and greatest undisturbed ecosystems, teeming with life including one of the largest elephant populations remaining on the African continent, large packs of wild dogs, vast herds of buffalo as well as more lions than any other protected area on the continent as reported by National Geographic in August 2013.

New York-born photographer Robert J. Ross has spent much of the past six years photographing in this vast and difficult to access reserve. He has compiled more than 100,000 images showing all aspects of the reserve's varied landscapes, seasons, flora and large and small fauna. Any discussion of peer learning involves consideration of who is learning, how the role of peers with whom one works can be conceptualized, what it is that peers learn together, what changes as a result of the interaction, and how we can know what occurs in groups or what has been learned. The chapters in this book speak to these questions. The key question underlying many of these others is why we should worry about the intricacies of peer interaction. Both the practical and theoretical reasons for doing so are delineated.

The developmental theory presented in the Introduction lays the foundation for the later descriptions of specific techniques, though many of the techniques reflect a range of other influences as well. Part I presents the implications of the work of two major theorists in cognitive development, Piaget (Ch. 1) and Vygotsky (Ch. 2). In Part II, six chapters describe a variety of peer learning techniques or models of collaboration, many of which are influenced by the work of Piaget and Vygotsky. The chapters in Part III consider the role of the teacher and the skills needed when using peer learning as an instructional strategy. The Conclusion points to areas in which further research is needed.

This volume is based on original papers presented by the contributing authors in November 1996 at the Rutgers Invitational Symposium on Education on Cognitive Skills and Learning With Peers.

On 18 June 1935 a bilateral agreement between Great Britain and Germany, which set German naval strength at a ratio of 1/3 of the size of the Royal Navy was signed. Hence the Germans were allowed to maintain the fleet of the tonnage of 421,000 tons. It enabled the construction of 5 warships, 2 -3 aircraft carriers, 5 heavy cruisers, 5 light cruisers and 28 destroyers. Soon after the agreement had been signed the construction of two battleships and two so-called "Washigton" heavy cruisers, provisionally named "G" and "H". The cruiser "H", later named Admiral Hipper was built in Blohm&Voss shipyard in Hamburg. The ship was laid down on 6 July 1935 and launched on 6 February 1937. On 29 April the ensign was raised. This addition to the Super Drawings in 3D series provides intricate, full color drawings of this impressive ship, meaning it is the perfect addition to any collection and a useful tool for all those who are keen to learn more about the ship.

Stowage of the ships boats, the Arado aircraft mounted on its' catapult, even the graceful shape of the so-called 'Atlantic bow' are all beautifully rendered.
